Canadian poet Rupi Kaur says she’s turned down an invite from U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration as a result of she opposes his authorities’s response to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The India-born Kaur stated on Instagram that the administration invited her to U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris’s Diwali celebration.
She wrote that she will not attend as a result of the U.S. authorities is funding Israel’s bombardment of Gaza.
Kaur stated she will be able to’t settle for an invite from “an establishment that helps the collective punishment of a trapped civilian inhabitants.”
